My journey in the academic field started in 1984 when I was awarded a bachelor in English language/Arts, and education, Damietta College of Education, Damietta Branch of Mansoura University, now known as Damietta University. _ that time on, I went through consecutive procedures to be a university professor and an academic researcher in the field of foreign language education. I was awarded a two-year diploma in mental hygiene and curriculum, then master_s and doctoral degrees in the field of curriculum and teaching English as a foreign language. Part of my doctoral program was fulfilled at the U.S.A.; namely, at the University of Alabama. There, I got the chance to meet with and work, as a visiting scholar, under the supervision of the distinguished international figure of such a field: Rebecca Oxford. I was lucky to cooperate with her, at the international level, concerning publishing, and presenting papers at conferences. Furthermore, I had the honor to translate one of her books, Language Learning Strategies, into Arabic. Areas that I published papers in include: language learning styles and strategies; social, cultural, and cognitive factors that affect foreign language learning; teacher education; course design; curriculum development; teaching and testing language s_s; and teaching English to students with special needs. I have studied; published; presented papers at conferences; and reviewed papers, articles and translations in Egypt, Spain, U.S.A., South Korea, France, Jordan, Syria, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. During my previous journey in the field of foreign language education, I have offered academic consultations to various academic institutions, locally, regionally, and internationally, including, among other organizations: The Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities; The Egyptian Ministry of Education; The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education; The Egyptian Academic National Committee for Promoting Professors; The Integrated English Language Program II (IELP-II) an educational project Funded by the USAID; Danida; Tafila Technical University, Tafila, Jordan; The University of Qassim, K.S.A.; The University of King Abdulaziz, K.S.A.; International Journal of English Language Teaching; Canada; English Language Teaching Journal; Canada; International Journal of Testing, U.S.A.; Center for Applied Linguistics, Washington D.C., U.S.A.
