FStudy aim & Problem:

The study aims in first part to _ the most appropriate environment of the residues under study and are available in the province of Damietta, including rice straw and sawdust and refuse of sugarcane.

The study included in the first part of the cultivation of strains of the mushroom type of shellfish Pleurotus ostruatus, Pleurotus Sajour caju to environmental waste disposal.

The second part of the study has been done to assess the biological mushroom type Pleurotus ostruatus solar and dried after milling has been the study of the effect of nutrition on the mushrooms on the functions of the liver and kidneys and the level of cholesterol and blood glucose in  the serum of rats infected diabetes and liver.

The first part of the study five types of environmental wastes have been used  as follows

Exp 1 : materials used were 100 %  rice straw

Exp 2 :materials used were50%  rice straw + 50% sugarcane bagasse.

Exp 3 : materials used were materials used were75%  rice straw + 25% sugarcane bagasse.

Exp 4 : materials used were 25% rice straw + 75 % sugarcane bagasse.

Exp 5: materials used were 40% straw +40 % sugarcane bagasse+ 20% soft sawdust

For the strain Pleurotus osteruatus the highest productivity in environments which consist of  (25% rice straw + 75 % sugarcane bagasse) the productivity was 378 gm/kg compost.

For the strain Pleurotus sajor caju the highest productivity in environments which consist of  (50% rice straw + 50 % sugarcane bagasse) the productivity was 356 gm/kg compost.

- The second part of the study

Biological assessment has been to the best of the breed in terms of productivity on the rats were rated on 70 male of the type  (Sprague-Dawely Strain)) with weights of 100 grams, were divided into 7 groups, each group consisted of 10 rat.

- The first main group (10 rats ) was used as a control groups (non-infected group) rats fed on basal diet .

-The second main group (30 rats).Rats were injected with Alloxane For diabetes in blood rats and consists of 3 sub-groups each of 10 rats.

Subgroup (1) used as a diabetes control group fed on basal diet.

Subgroup (2) fed on basal diet containing 5% of strain under study of dried powder mushroom.

Subgroup (3) fed on basal diet containing 10% of strain under study of dried powder mushroom.

-The third main group (30 rats). Rats were injected with  tetra carbon chloride to cause liver injury and consists of 3 sub-groups each of 10 rats.

Subgroup (1) used as a liver control group which it is infected with the liver fed on basal diet.

Subgroup (2) which it is infected with the liver fed on basal diet containing 5% dried powder mushroom under study .

Subgroup (3) which it is infected with the liver fed on basal diet containing 10% dried powder mushroom under study.

The results show that mushroom reduce glucose blood .Also it reduce cholesterol and triglyceride ,therefore it led to improve liver functions ,it reduced the ratio GOT   , GPT in blood serum.
