Effects of some offensive situational exercises on tactical thinking and penalty corner scoring rates of female field hockey players

The aim of current study is to design some offensive situational exercises for improving the penalty corner scoring rates of female field hockey players. The aim was divided into minor objectives to identifying; the improving of tactical thinking and the accuracy of penalty corner skill movement tasks such as (Pull out, Ball stop, striking, deflection and following) and additionally the penalty corner scoring rates.

The experimental curriculum was used in current study by one tail group. Forty female players participated in current study from Sharkia Hockey Club and for pilot study were participated only 10 players. The experimental group underwent to 8 weeks training program and completed 33 hours in the whole period.   

The results of current study show a significant difference between pre and post testing in offensive tactical thinking criterion and the accuracy of penalty corner skill movement tasks, additionally an improvement in penalty corner scoring rates during field hockey season 2016/2017 when compared with 2015/2016.
