The nonlinear propagation of dust acoustic waves (DAWs) in a variable size grains dusty plasma, hybrid Cairns–Tsallis-distributed electrons, and Boltzmann-distributed ions is studied. The size of dust grains obeys the power law dust size distribution (DSD). A Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived. The effects of the nonthermal and nonextensive parameters on the main properties of DAWs are presented. It is found that the power law DSD plays an important role in the wave dynamics. These results help us to explain the main characteristics of the propagating DAWs in dusty space plasmas as well as experimental plasmas.
