Advanced Clastic Sedimentology

In this course students will study Introduction to clastic sedimentology, Grain texture, Classification of terrigenous clastic rocks, Fluid flow and sediment transport, Bedforms and stratification under unidirectional flows, Flow, bedforms and stratification under oscillatory and combined flows, Mineralogical compositions; Framework Detritals, and binding materials, Diagenesis of clastics; early and late diagenesis, and shallow and deep. Siliciclastic depositional environments: Alluvial fan deposits, Fluvial deposits, Eolian deposits,  Lacustrine environments, Deltaic environments, Estuarine environments, Tidal depositional systems, Shoreline and barrier island systems, Shallow marine deposits, Continental slopes turbidites and submarine fans and Paleosols.
