A Comparative Study of the Perception and Attitudes of Workers in Public and Private Garments Factories in Gharbia Governorate, Egypt

The present study deals with the perception and attitudes of 90 workers from public and private garments factories in Gharbia Governorate, Egypt. Two factories, one public and the other private, were surveyed by a special questionnaire. The results of the surveyed sample of workers show that financial attitudes, administrative satisfaction and satisfaction with the working environment satisfaction are of primary concern to both workers in the public and private sectors. There is a highly significant difference between the attitudes and perception of both types. Positive attitudes are higher for private sector workers. It is recommended to carry out more extensive surveys in other similar factories to enable decision makers to address the different issues to meet the workers_ needs in order to increase their productivity and competitiveness.
