06-01-2024 09:11

This study proposes a model of early screening of children aged 3-5 years for risk of learning disabilities that could lead to preventive interventions, including collaborative interventions planned through parent-professional partnerships. The goals of screening and preventive services are to mitigate the increased risk of learning difficulties in the elementary school years. This article describes the rationale for early screening, the dimensions that should include brief screening tools for use from ages 3 to 5 years, and potential preventive interventions that have empirical support.
